It’s been pretty quiet over on this blog for a little while now. Trust me, it’s not because I don’t want to talk! It’s simply because I’ve run out of interesting things to say. Getting ready for the move, and hopefully I’ve got my checklist as complete as it needs to be. I’m sure if I forget things I’ll notice. Maybe. Hopefully. We’ll see.
In any case, work’s been busy, which is nice. Been working on some fun projects, most recently implementing a new ticket system. I had fun getting it to play nicely with Active Directory so that it could easily authenticate all of our existing users, but the absolute most fun part of the whole thing was making the system work with Bootstrap. One of my coworkers helped me a lot with the actual integration, which was good – I haven’t done much at all with PHP, much less trying to integrate new CSS styling into a PHP site, so it was really good to work with someone with a lot more experience with the relevant technology. It went really well, I think! Hoping to get to roll that out in the next week or so.
Now, what would this post be without some pretty pictures? I like to show off what I’ve done, so here’s an album of the ticket system as it looks now. I’m really happy with the results.
Feel free to let me know if you’re interested in implementing OSTicket like this for your own workplace. I’d be happy to shoot you the site files and help you configure it. Just leave a comment or poke me on Twitter/Facebook!
